“Thoughts become words, words become behaviour, behaviour becomes habits, habits become values, and values lead to destiny.”
— Mahatma Gandhi
In the creation of words, behaviour, habits, values, and ultimately destiny, everything begins with a thought.
If destiny is the consequence of thought, then thought itself is shaped by our feelings, attitudes, knowledge, and experiences. These elements activate our cognitive faculties and set the thinking process in motion.
Thinking is a mental activity of the brain; a thought is its product. The formation of one’s own ideas, the adoption of external thoughts, and even their acceptance or rejection are all acts of thought. In that sense, the very process of considering is itself thinking.
Thought manifests in many forms: reasoning, imagination, understanding, judgment, memory, opinion, belief, and even simple awareness of time and place.
